Dear Friends and Partners,
Warm Easter greetings to you in the name of our Risen Lord!
As we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, we are reminded that Easter is more than a historical moment: it is a divine declaration of hope, transformation, and new beginnings. The empty tomb speaks not only to the victory over sin and death, but also to God’s commitment to renew and restore His creation.
At ACTEA, the message of the resurrection fuels our mission. We believe that theological education must not only be intellectually rigorous, but spiritually alive. It should form leaders who are deeply rooted in the resurrection hope and equipped to serve a continent in need of healing, justice, and truth.
In every institution we accredit, every leader we train, and every partnership we foster, we are reminded that the same power that raised Christ from the dead is at work in Africa’s classrooms, institutions, pulpits, and communities. Our continent faces many challenges, but through theological education that is mission-faithful and contextually grounded, we see God raising a new generation of servant-leaders, filled with wisdom and resurrection courage.
This Easter, and beyond, may we be inspired afresh to walk in resurrection power; to teach, to lead, to serve, and to love as Christ did. May our institutions and churches continue to be places where life is nurtured, hope is taught, and leaders are sent forth to proclaim the good news with clarity and compassion.
Thank you for being part of this journey with us.
Christ is Risen. He is Risen Indeed!
With hope and joy,
Rev. Dr. David Tarus

Rising Voices: Empowering Women in Theological Education
Over 15 female theologians participated in a capacity-building workshop in Kumba, Cameroon, involving three ACTEA member institutions: the Apostolic Bilingual Seminary, the Baptist Theological Seminary, and the Presbyterian Theological Seminary. Led by Dr. Verena Schafroth, ACTEA’s Engagement Director for Women in Theological Education, this initiative reflected on ACTEA’s commitment to strengthening theological education in Africa by equipping women for leadership and ministry. As we celebrate the hope and renewal of Easter, we are reminded that just as Christ rose, so too must we rise to invest in voices that will shape the future of the Church across the continent.
Kao La Amani: Empowering Faculty for Mission-Faithful and Future-Ready Education
This April, our Executive Director, Rev. Dr. David Tarus had the privilege of facilitating a strategic training for faculty and board members of AIC Kao La Amani Theological College, a theological institution with over 25 years of service in training leaders, musicians, and laity for the African Inland Church. The conversations were vibrant and hopeful—just like the message of Easter. Leaders left the training inspired to shepherd institutions that are both grounded in Scripture and responsive to the evolving needs of the church and society.
