The COVID-19 pandemic has greatly affected the stability of the more than 100 ACTEA institutions. Our schools are worried that they might not survive the pandemic. Bruk Ayele from Mekane Yesus Seminary in Ethiopia, writes, “If the situation continues like this, almost all of our income, which is derived from students’ tuition fees, will be stopped. Then, we will be unable to pay the salaries of our faculty and staff. We are not sure what we will do in this worst-case scenario. It would be a big blow to us, affecting whether we can continue as an institution.” Alemseged Ketema from Evangelical Theological College in Ethiopia also writes, “ETC is closed – online class is not working well since most of our students have no access to internet or technology. That means they are not paying tuition and you know what that means. We are trusting for God’s intervention in this matter.”

ACTEA is reaching out to you to help raise USD 70,000 to help offset the institution’s annual fees for one year. The fees go towards ACTEA day-to-day operations including capacity-building programs for the institutions.
The largest institution normally pays about 5,000 USD and the smallest institution normally pays about 300 USD per year. By not paying their membership dues to ACTEA, the institutions will have some extra funds in the accounts that can be used for other urgent needs like salaries, student aid, medical insurance, improvement of ICT, among others.
